1. Information We Collect

When you use RateMe, we collect:

• Account data: email, username, and password (hashed).
• Profile data: display name, bio, self-selected country/city, and uploaded media.
• Usage data: ratings given/received, views, follows, and comments.
• OAuth data: if you sign in via Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from the provider.
• Messages: 1-to-1 chat is end-to-end encrypted — our servers only ever store ciphertext, never message contents.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide and improve the RateMe service.
• To display your profile and ratings on leaderboards.
• To send verification emails and important account notifications.
• To prevent abuse and enforce our terms.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Service providers: Supabase (database/auth), Resend (email), Railway (hosting).
• Legal requirements: if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

4. Data Storage

Your data is stored on Supabase (PostgreSQL) with SSL encryption. Media files are stored in Supabase Storage. All connections use HTTPS.

5. Your Rights

You can:

• View and edit your profile data at any time.
• Delete your account in-app (Settings > Privacy & Safety > Delete Account), which permanently removes all your data, or request deletion without the app from our account deletion page.
• Request a copy of your data by contacting us.

6. Cookies

The RateMe app does not use cookies. The website uses no tracking cookies or analytics.

7. Children

RateMe requires users to confirm they are at least 17 years old at sign-up and is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with the updated date.
